As many people ask themselves waaaat they should do for work of in life in general, waat wants to make finding answers to these questions easier. Waat’s purpose is to offer information about what kinds of professions there are in the world, What people actually do in these professions, and how they like what they do.

FOR high-schoolers and STUDENTS, waat would like to make them to pay attention to two things - to think about the actual daily work they would be doing in a few years (not only about what it would be like to study, that’ll last a while). ALSO, it’s important to think what you would actually enjoy doing. disliking something 8 hours/day sounds insane!

NEW DATA WILL BE ADDED ALL THE TIME, the eventual purpose being covering all possible professions from cleaners to cheese sculptors to politicians. In case you have any questions of feedback about waat, please contact

Could you describe your job in short?

I work for a small design agency and my main responsibilities are tasks related to graphic design and branding, such as creating logos and other elements for companies, layout design for advertisements, and sometimes creating illustrations.

What do you do on average work day?

My days vary a lot. The working hours are very flexible and I can often choose if I prefer to work in the morning or later in the afternoon. Some days are longer if there is a deadline coming up and some days are more quiet. This is very typical for the industry and small agencies. The job is quite independent but you have to interact with other team members, like project managers. My whole day usually consists of different design related tasks done on computer, switching between softwares, depending on the task. Sometimes I attend client meetings when the design plan is discussed or final design is presented.

What do you love about your job?

Creating something concrete is what I love about this job. And possibility to use creativity. This kind of flexible work suits me well as I my workflow is strongly connected to general feeling and inspiration. I love the independency and possibility to see my ideas coming to live and being executed.

What are the worst parts of your job?

Creativity has two sides. Sometimes there is a deadline coming up or a urgent request from the client and then you just have to create what is requested, no matter if you get inspiration and great idea or not. You just have to push it.
