As HRBP (HR Business Partner) I am in charge of wide range of HR related tasks, such as recruitment, development projects, employment law, headcount planning, HR systems, reporting and payroll etc.
Lot of ad hoc tasks, people stopping by to talk, ask questions. Working on bigger projects with HR colleagues around the world. Taking telcos with managers in other countries.
The variety of tasks, working closely with business but from people aspect. My work is very globally oriented.
Difficult people, people who dont respect HR as a function. Not being in the business fully but you have to understand it to be able to be a good HR BP.
Mostly through everyday work, background in human sciences helps too. Support from HR colleagues is also vital to develop yourself in this profession.
It is much more business oriented than one might think of HR role.
